  • Today at 6pm is the deadline for “Cut Day” and many announcements of players being cut from the Jets were being made on Twitter.  Two players that had active twitter accounts were cut yesterday and we say goodbye at least as Jets Twitter accounts.  Jason Davis [@JasonDavis43] and Don Warren [@DWarren35] were unfortunately let go.  Here is Rich Cimini’s forecast of what he thinks the roster will look like at 6:01pm.

Barring a curve ball, here’s what the roster will look like Saturday. It doesn’t count Revis (they will get a roster exemption) or WR Santonio Holmes (he will go on the suspended list).

QB — Mark Sanchez, Mark Brunell, Kellen Clemens. Cuts: None.

RB — LaDainian Tomlinson, Shonn Greene, Tony Richardson, John Conner, Danny Woodhead, Joe McKnight.

WR — Jerricho Cotchery, Braylon Edwards, Brad Smith, David Clowney.

TE — Dustin Keller, Ben Hartsock, Matt Mulligan, Jeff Cumberland.

OL — D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Matt Slauson, Nick Mangold, Brandon Moore, Damien Woody, Wayne Hunter, Rob Hunter, Vladimir Ducasse.

DL — Shaun Ellis, Kris Jenkins, Mike DeVito, Sione Pouha, Vernon Gholston, Matt Kroul.

LB — David Harris, Bart Scott, Bryan Thomas, Calvin Pace, Jason Taylor, Jamaal Westerman, Kenwin Cummings, Lance Laury.

DB — Antonio Cromartie, Jim Leonhard, Kyle Wilson, Brodney Pool, Eric Smith, Dwight Lowery, Drew Coleman, James Ihedigbo, Marquice Cole.

SP — Nick Folk, Steve Weatherford, Tanner Purdum.

“Maybe. Does it give you more confidence? Probably,” Woodhead said when told what Ryan said. “But I’m not approaching this, by any means, as if I’ve solidified my roster spot. By all means, I’m just going to go back, probably sleep, try to get eight hours in, and just rest.”

The Jets’ top two running backs are starter Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson. Ryan also said fourth-round pick Joe McKnight will be on the team, despite a disappointing preseason that made the coach lose confidence in McKnight’s ability to be active on gameday. Ryan has also said the Jets will keep two fullbacks — veteran Tony Richardson and rookie John Conner — making for a heavy backfield.

The new twitter account is ready to go and there will be some great deals.  Keep looking to @JetsTwit_Tiqs for the tweets.  In the mean time, why don’t you follow the account.  thx!
